Revolutionary Love

From the October Revolution to the Haitian Revolution, from the Yugoslav Revolution to the Zapatista Revolution in Mexico: all these were guided not only by visions of new political orders, but also by love: by a flowering sense of sisterhood and brotherhood on the barricades and in the factories. Revolutionary Love continues this tradition by bringing together leading philosophers, writers, artists, activists and social movements from across the world to address the urgent questions of our times. How is it possible that demands such as those worked out over a century ago, for example, by feminist Alexandra Kollontai (from the legalisation of abortion and homosexuality to the decriminalisation of prostitution) seem radical again in many parts of Europe and the world? How did love fall prey to capitalist commodification? And why are algorithms now in charge of what is desirable? Revolutionary Love tackles nothing less than the intellectual, artistic and political reclaiming of love as an indispensable force of revolution.
