The symposium is one of Plato's most famous dialogues. Seven friends gather at a party one night in ancient Athens and discuss the nature of love. 2,400 years later, we gather for a symposium in Vienna to consider the revolutionary nature of love together and share our insights. Love is debated in the House of the Republic and throughout Vienna for five weeks, it is given a stage, it is investigated, it is reconsidered. For the grand final of the series Revolutionary Love, leading thinkers from throughout the world come to Vienna for two days to hotly debate the revolutionary potential of love – a dialogue with different viewpoints and expertises, from various disciplines including philosophy, archaeology, politics and psychoanalysis. An act of love!
