With free admission, the opening event brings together pop and brass, punk and schlager, opera and folk music – a grand celebration for Vienna, Europe, and the world. Council of the Republic 2025

The sovereign of the Free Republic of Vienna, comprising citizens of Vienna and international guests, devised the Vienna Declaration in 2024. It will serve the transformation of the Vienna Festival (Wiener Festwochen) into a festival of the future until 2028.
