Who needs to be cancelled? Do we cancel too much? Do we agree too much?
The first Congress of Vienna will traverse the wide field of relationships between art, politics and society by addressing three very different cases: the bitter clashes around the war in Gaza that show a rash use of discrediting; the question ‘Do we speak with right-wingers?’ and demands to cancel controversial stances; finally, the restriction of artistic freedom in the shape of funding stops, dismissals, bans and provisos in the cultural life of our neighbouring countries Hungary, Slovakia and Germany.
With experts such as political scientist Ulrike Guérot, FEMEN activist Inna Shevchenko, former Berlin Senator for Culture Klaus Lederer, Managing Director of Amnesty International Austria Shoura Hashemi, and former Austrian Federal Minister of Justice Alma Zadić.
