Nhaka (inheritance, legacy) is an animist, decolonial practice and theory, which the renowned Zimbabwean artist nora chipaumire has been developing for over a decade. Setting out from Nhaka, which originates in the culture and spiritual practices of the Shona, a people of Zimbabwe, this workshop investigates strategies for a refractory body. Using physical practices, sound, gestures and language, the participants explore the revolutionary potential of art in the struggle against racism, imperialism and neocolonialism together.
