Camille Étienne is a 25-year-old social and climate justice activist who is particularly active against seabed mining in France, the Arctic and international waters. She has participated in UN negotiations and influences political and economic decision-makers as well as supporting and carrying out civil disobedience with Earth Uprisings and other movements such as Stop EACOP. She also uses art in her activism through dance, music or her short films (Génération, Réveillons-nous, Glacier) and her documentary "Pourquoi on se bat". She recently published Pour un soulèvement écologique: dépasser notre impuissance collective (2023, Seuil).
