The Love Fight Club offers a stage for physical training, performance, discussion and film. It was created in response to the Republic of Love and engages with it through embodied love. Every Wednesday from 21 May to 18 June, the Love Fight Club opens its doors to an intimate yet provocative arena in the basement of Funkhaus. Here, physical closeness and vulnerability are explored alongside adrenaline-fueled training, gender norms, pleasure, the boundaries of consent, and alternative expressions of masculinity.

Curated by: Benjamin Amiel, Alice Bazzichelli, Markus Feifel Pargas, Stephan Sinn, Simon Wallis
Support: Marie Siebdrat, Joanna Weise

Please note that the LFC room has limited capacity, so make sure to secure your spot by redeeming a free-ticket at the Funkhaus main entrance starting 1 hour before each event. Trainings require online registration, you’ll find the links in the program below.

  • 21 May INTIMACY: A Soft Power

Tufting Carpet Workshop with Fynn Fix (LFC) (EN/DE)
    5–6.30pm

The Love Fight Club starts with a sensual introduction: a tufting workshop by Vienna based artist Fynn Fix, who has created all LFC carpets by hand. Tufting involves working with a so-called “tufting gun” - a tool that looks like a weapon, but does not exert violence and instead creates soft surfaces. With this contrast between aggression and tenderness participants are invited to become part of the process themselves and experience the meditative power of tufting – between body rhythm, texture and intimacy. The event is free but registration is mandatory. Max capacity 15 ppl. Register here

Warm up performance with Carmen Kirschner (Foyer/Corridor) (EN/DE)
    6.30–7.30pm

Performance artist Carmen Kirschner invites you to step onto the mat and into the moment. As the charismatic promoter of the Love Fight Club, she blurs the lines between audience and performer with playful interactions that warm up both body and spirit. Passing through the halls of Funkhaus with a (mobile) carpet, she activates the space by spontaneous encounters: Join a round of thumb wrestling, or challenge her in a joyful duel of the absurd! Through humor, light competition, and physical proximity, Carmen Kirschner opens a space where contact becomes connection – soft, strange, and full of love.

Performance: PE GA JO SO (LFC) (no language)
    Show 1: 7.30–8pm

In a world in which power is often confused with loudness, dominance and distance, the Love Fight Club strikes a different note with its opening event. The LFC’s opening night culminates in PE GA JO SO, a raw and intimate performance created by Paco Ladrón and embodied by Stella Covi and Aroma. Through intense physical proximity, the piece navigates the volatile terrain between aggression and affection, resistance and surrender. PE GA JO SO is a choreography of friction - playing dirty and hard, rejecting politeness, and daring to find softness at the edge of exhaustion. It questions how much tension the body could hold, how much violence it could channel into tenderness, and what happens when stamina runs out but the encounter continues.
