GRANDE FINALE AT THE HOUSE OF THE REPUBLIC

Five festival weeks and thereby the year in which the Free Republic of Vienna was constituted will be concluded with the presentation of the results of the hearings, the trials and the debates at the House of the Republic. Following the final Kraus Lecture, the judgements of the Vienna Trials will be pronounced and the Council of the Republic will read out and pass the Vienna Declaration, the rules for the next four years of Festwochen. There follows a showing of the play L’ Addition, which tours all 23 districts of Vienna, at the House of the Republic. It will be a day of reflection, results and community – and at the same time the beginning of hands-on work on the future and further development of the Free Republic of Vienna.

Announcement of the Vienna Declaration

With the Vienna Declaration, the Wiener Festwochen is the first cultural institution in the world to adopt its own constitution together with the city's population. In a democratic process lasting five and a half weeks, the COUNCIL OF THE REPUBLIC listened to the opinions of 60 experts on socio-political issues in the HEARINGS: 80 Viennese discussed the values to which the Free Republic of Vienna is committed. The Vienna Declaration, which is ceremoniously read out at 4pm, sets out clear rules and paves the way for the festival of the future.

Read out and pass of the Vienna Declaration
4pm, free admission

The Read out and pass of the Vienna Declaration will also be livestreamed on www.festwochen.at.
