This year's pièce commune is on show at fifteen venues across the city. It is a gripping story of two people, one mountain and the truth, narrated by two actors on an almost empty stage. The Argentinian director Mariano Pensotti is once again proving himself a master of grand narratives that reveal layer upon layer of bygone and forgotten history. 

Towards the end of his career, a mountain climber is tackling the very summit from which his father, a famous mountaineer, never returned thirty years previously. Some time later, an actor whose career is past its prime is supposed to depict the climber on this fateful expedition in a film. Mariano Pensotti, the Argentinian director and founder of Grupo Marea combines these two men's tales at a critical point of their biographies to create a compelling story about the human attitude to nature, about truth and fiction and about the possibility of becoming another. As this season's pièce commune with two actors, A Voracious Shadow tours fifteen Viennese districts. Pensotti is once again proving himself a master of grand narratives that let personal fates clash and reveal layer upon layer of bygone and forgotten history, like a glacier that, once the ice is melting, brings forth the bodies of the missing.
