The choreographer, singer-songwriter and queer activist Ivo Dimchev unites highbrow and subculture, pop and Balkan folklore in his performances. In The Strauss Technique, he takes the vibrant potential of Johann Strauss' music and turns it into a vigorous musical workout with the audience. Setting out from the music by the King of the Waltz, Dimchev creates his own healing songs to charm various body parts. It is a declaration of love to queerness and a bonding experience that casts off stereotypes of identity and sexuality, issuing an invitation to enhance spirit, perception and physicality.
