V is for loVe: On Friday, the Republic of Love unveils its programme in the mythical Funkhaus! After a fire ritual to purge the former Reichsender of old and new fascism, artistic director Milo Rau, together with the iconic group SIGNA, star directors Lisaboa Houbrechts and Kurdwin Ayub and the band of the Republic of LUV, will lead us through what is undoubtedly the wildest and most tender festival programme since the Vienna Festival (Wiener Festwochen) was founded. Should RAF, Teichtmeister and Rammstein be given a stage? Can we make art about the Middle East conflict? What is theatre and love in the age of #MeToo? And what are the classics of the future?
