Bamba Pana & Makaveli are part of the Nyege Nyege Tapes label family, which is based in Kampala, Uganda. Starting with its first release in 2016, the label continues to explore, produce and release "outsider" music from around the region and beyond. Jumanne Ramadhani Zegge a.k.a. Bamba Pana is one of the core producers at Nyege Nyege, alongside Jay Mitta and Sisso, whose studio is a central hub for MCs and producers of the Singeli scene in the Mburahati ghetto on the outskirts of Dar Es Salaam. Along with his peers, Bamba Pana uses a laptop and software to update the local, usually acoustic and instrumental style of Singeli, computerizing its hyper rhythms and zinging melodies for the needs of younger, contemporary crowds in an upfront, direct way that has translated far beyond its East African roots.
A fiercely competent young DJ who blows away any room she plays, Cõvco is by far one of London’s most original and exciting DJs. Her sets combine a hi-energy mix of footwork edits and experimental dance music which often result in a frenzied dance floor experience. As she put it into her own words on her page on Londons cult radio-station NTS: "creating an atmosphere, essence & feel of vibe is what i'm purely about. So feel free to put me in a space & share that with me."
DJ Nervoso was born in São Tomé and Príncipe, a Portuguese-speaking island nation in the Gulf of Guinea, off the western equatorial coast of Central Africa, but is based in Quinta do Mocho, in the periphery of Lisbon for more than 2 decades. Nervoso is the main reason why DJ Marfox, DJ Firmeza and many others started deejaying and producing, hooked on his fiery DJ sets since they were barely in their teens, around 2001-2002. He is well known for a bare bones approach to rhythm, working the basic hypnotic feel of pounding drums to mesmerizing effect, in his permanent quest to make people move. His sound is meant to unite, not divide, the dancefloor. He is a true scene originator, shaping the sound of Angolan Kuduro into a new experience, strongly influenced by techno and house, always true to the original spirit of the music.
Yuzu is the Dj / musician moniker of Milena Georgieva, a Sofia born artist, now based in Vienna. Her Dj-sets are build on transgressing genre boundaries, leading through unexpected flows of happy, ecstatic, dark, hard, longing, sexy, concrete, proud and cocky vibes. Hard raging beats dissolve into ambience, from where a hymnic r’n’b acapella arises, just to dissolve into flames of noise, slapped out again by footwork. Milena is also part of the demon pop-duo Pandora and co-founder of Clinic, a former platform and event format, which aimed to challenge the hierarchical structures found within the experimental electronic music scene, club culture, performative and fine arts. Recently she's organizing Sebism, a DIY home for contemporary experimental music performances, underground zeal and radical zest.
