Yu Horiuchi

Yu Horiuchi is a soloist and chamber musician. Her versatility is shown not only in her regular classical programmes, but also in shows with the duo Igudesman & Joo and her solo projects in which she steps up her game and multitasks one-man-band style, joining the piano with other instruments, which she plays at the same time - as well as bringing singing into the bargain. Born in Japan, Yu moved to Germany in her early childhood, winning a place at the Yehudi Menuhin School in England at the age of 14. She then completed her studies at the Royal College of Music in London and at The Juilliard School in New York.
Yu Horiuchi is one of the only artists to have recorded on the legendary Rubinstein Steinway for her solo CD, Meeting Rubinstein. She has been living in Vienna for 20 years.
