Born in Lörrach in 1983, Thomas Geiger is an interdisciplinary artist based in Vienna, whose works draw on performance, sculpture and language to generate fragmentary stages and ludic situations. His oeuvre straddles the interface of public and private/institutional spaces, and it is in this zone that Geiger creates points of contact with different forms of what is public. In recent years, he has e.g. realised projects with steirischer herbst, Graz; Kunstverein Langenhagen; Museum Tinguely, Basel; Simultanhalle, Cologne; Despacio, San José (Costa Rica); Fondation d’entreprise Ricard, Paris; Museo de Arte Contemporáneo, Santiago de Chile; beursschouwburg, Brussels; La Construccíon, Guatemala City. Thomas Geiger studied free and interdisciplinary art at the State Academy of Fine Arts Karlsruhe and at the Academy of Art in Tallinn and is the founder of Kunsthalle3000.
