To mark its 75th anniversary, the Vienna Festival is proclaiming a “Holy Spring” with the Republic of Gods: a mythical celebration of criticism of and a longing for the divine. In response, the Admiral Kino and the Stadtkino at the Künstlerhaus are setting out in search of goddesses, both ancient and modern. Because Alanis Morissette is God. And because Patti Smith is the Goddess of Punk – on stage at the Vienna Festival, on the screen at the Admiral Kino.
From 17 May to 15 June 2026, the Admiral Kino and Stadtkino Wien will become places of worship. Because goddesses are simply everywhere all at once.
Thank Goddess!

Her films tell the stories of people whose voices are rarely heard in the public sphere. Her work is characterised by Diop’s endeavour to bring unique life stories from the margins into the spotlight. In doing so, she transforms personal stories into political images.Tickets / Stadtkino im Künstlerhaus
