Marta Górnicka is known for her unique chorus theatre, in which the voices and bodies of the participants become powerful instruments of political expression. In her works, she examines patterns of social injustice and the relationship between the individual and the collective. She describes the feeling currently shared by many people as a ‘silent scream’: torn between powerlessness and the urge to resist in an increasingly polarised society. How can we show solidarity with each other and at the same time recognise differences? What does it take to listen to each other attentively and speak together? In her workshop, she invites participants to explore their voices and bodies as tools and to use the practice of the chorus to create a collective resonant body from a multitude of individuals: a chorus that says that which is often left unheard in public discourse.
