MellowYellow, the inclusive art project for schools, is launching its first collaboration with the Free Republic of Vienna in 2026. In the play KASSANDRA, Polish director Marta Górnicka brings together a choir of modern Cassandras from different generations, languages, backgrounds and abilities, whose voices often go unheard. In preparation for this theatre visit, MellowYellow is coming to the classroom with art interventions full of vibrant creativity.
With MellowYellow, the gym becomes a stage and the school bell becomes the soundtrack. Through artistic work on an equal level, MellowYellow transmits contemporary dance art, physical expression and inclusion. Inclusion? We don't talk about it much, we just bring it with us.
Professional artists come to the school for 1.5 days in a so-called mixed-abled team – consisting of artists with and without disabilities. The pupils are given the opportunity to try out artistic practice in a playful way, raise their voices together and, in doing so, are introduced to the themes of the play.
