Sandra Pires

Singer Sandra Pires, a native of East Timor, grew up in Portugal and Australia. After successfully launching her career in Australia, she quickly gained a foothold in the Austrian music scene and became known to a wide audience with her song Here I am, among others. Projects with the London Symphonic Orchestra and in Los Angeles have followed. With engagements at the Volksoper, the Ronacher and the MuseumsQuartier, she thrilled audiences in musicals such as Sound of Music, South Pacific, Mary Poppins and Jesus Christ Superstar. In parallel she released her first self-penned Portuguese album Destino. In 2022 Sandra Pires presented her new Portuguese programme Canto de Alegria at the Styriarte. She is currently touring Austria with this programme - a mix of fado, rhythms from the African continent and references to the Viennese Waltz.
