Reflections

Festwochen Campus

The Festwochen Campus – an integral part of the Festwochen for many years through its cooperation with the Department of Theatre, Film and Media Studies at the University of Vienna – is making a fresh start. And what a reboot it is! Indeed, this year, the Campus is playing host to no fewer than five universities from Vienna and Berlin. Up to 100 students in total will attend the festival performances, with the Festwochen Campus offering a vast array of formats. In talks, lectures and master classes featuring, among others, Kate McIntosh, Nataša Rajković, Gisèle Vienne and Jozef Wouters, they will get to reflect on their festival experiences and gain a wide range of practical insights.

In the Field

Aspiring artists and cultural workers from Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovenia and Croatia are set to reconvene in Vienna once again for the third edition of the In the Field scholarship programme. Concurrently with the festival programme, the 15 scholarship recipients will take a closer look at aesthetic and structural issues pertaining to contemporary art production and, over a period of ten days, explore both the international scene and the local context. In the Field focuses on supra-regional networking and knowledge transfer, bringing together young people from a 300 km radius around Vienna for exchanges with one another and the city itself. The 2022 programme is to be coordinated by Vienna-based dramaturge and associate curator Eva Wolfesberger
(brut Wien).
