Biographie

Born in 1980, Pierre-Yves Macé is a French musician and composer. His music is situated at the interface of contemporary classical, electro-acoustic composition and sound art. His first recording Faux-Jumeaux was released in 2002. Pierre-Yves Macé was commissioned to compose new pieces by numerous international festivals and concert series. His music was performed by the ensemble Cairn, L’Instant Donné, the Orchestre de chambre Paris, Hong Kong Sinfonietta and Les Cris de Paris and released by such labels as Tzadik, Orkhêstra, Sub Rosa und Brocoli. He has collaborated with writers/directors Christophe Fiat and Joris Lacoste and dancers Anne Collod and Fabrice Ramalingom. An accomplished musicologist, he is the author of the book Musique et document sonore.
