Have you ever seen a divine creature? The programme for children and young teens at the floating House of the Republic is all about gods and goddesses, inside and out. What do they look like? Are they invisible, or do they only show themselves to those who believe in them? Can we hear them? In each workshop, the young participants work together to design new divine beings. Using large-format cardboard, wooden slats and other materials, they create mythical beings that will take up residence on the Badeschiff during the festival. Beyond design and construction, the voices and sounds of the new deities are explored in a sound workshop, whilst the myth workshop creates stories and tales that reveal their divine qualities and superpowers. It’s the birth of an entire audiovisual universe all about the freshly created water creatures!
