On 26 February at 10am, the Vienna Festival (Wiener Festwochen) | Free Republic of Vienna press conference took place at the Badeschiff on the Danube Canal. On its 75th anniversary, the Free Republic of Vienna declares itself the Republic of Gods!
The programme presentation began with a Ukrainian neo-folk song accompanied by a captured Russian Hurricane rocket: Music is Resistance! A performance by Roman Grygoriv with Marichka Shtyrbulova (Opera Aperta). After a welcome by Vienna's City Councillor for Culture Veronica Kaup-Hasler, Milo Rau and artists Susanne Kennedy, Lina Majdalanie, Brigitta Muntendorf and Marchika Styrbulova presented the programme highlights. A performance of the signature song by this year's Vienna Festival Band and the audience provided the perfect finale to an atmospheric opening.
