Kukuruz Quartett is a quartet composed of four Swiss pianists: Philip Bartels, Duri Collenberg, Simone Keller and Lukas Rickli. The quartet was established in 2014 in the context of a music theatre production by Ruedi Häusermann to perform music on four “well-prepared one-hand pianos”. Kukuruz Quartett is equally active on theatre stages and in concert halls. In addition to stages like the Roter Salon of Volksbühne Berlin or festivals including documenta 14 in Athens, the quartet also performs concerts in unusual venues that include a brewery, a printing shop, a gym as well as bars, clubs, banks, railway stations, hospitals or stores. Their 2018 recording Piano Interpretations has met with great international acclaim.
