Biography

Josef Semeleder is a double-bass player, actor and break dancer. Learning cello was his starting point into the world of arts, later he moved on to the double-bass. At the same time, he discovered his passion for breakdance and received training at the Vienna Dance Center. From the age of 14 he studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, where he graduated cum laude from the concert class in 2012. Josef Semeleder won multiple national and international competitions both as a bassist and as a dancer. Among others, he worked with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra/Wiener Staatsoper Orchestra and as a solo bassist for the ORF Radio Symphony Orchestra. Since 2010, he is part of the SWR-Symphony Orchestra Stuttgart under the direction of Teodor Currentzis. Besides his career as a musician, the artist always kept his other passions for acting and dance in focus.
