Sharing their roots in the rich musical culture of Iran, Vienna-based musicians Golnar Shahyar and Rojin Sharafi have so far never collaborated. At this year’s Last Time, This Time, Next Time their individual musical worlds will meet for the first time, live on stage. Shahyar and Sharafi both put innovation, authenticity, improvisation and storytelling at the core of their work. Their musical vocabulary goes beyond borders of genre, borrowing elements from different epochs and styles such from Folk to Jazz, Ambient, Metal, and Noise. By not following any readymade precepts they weave their thoughts and feelings together into narrative layers and textures of soundscapes, words and poetry.

Golnar Shahyar is a vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and composer in the fields of contemporary jazz, folk, song-writing and improvised music. Rojin Sharafi is a sound artist and composer in the field of acoustic, electro-acoustic and electronic music.
