Goldie does what she likes doing best: she remodels her house. Her joy is infectious and unsettling in equal measure, because Goldie is critically ill. She wants to give her all with a body that is giving up on her. Her cat Apollo enjoys Goldie’s increasing weakness – finally he can sit on her lap and snore to his heart’s content for what seems like hours on end. In Dancing Idiots, Ursina Lardi, Karin Neuhäuser, Sebastian Blomberg, André Jung and drummer Willi Kellers play survivors on the way to the next disaster. They have a uniquely preposterous mixture of brutality and tenderness, existential angst and lust for life. In the course of the evening, the audience join Goldie in reliving that which it is hard to say goodbye to: wild kayak tours, sleeping cats, sauna visits that get out of hand, the smell of fresh wood and the forgotten memories of a baby. Director Thorsten Lensing does what he likes doing best: he creates a clever, existential night at the theatre.
