The Vienna collective Wetter Etc. centres on a loudspeaker system named ‘ROTOR’ using a sophisticated network to emanate clouds of sounds into the space. These are received benevolently by an ensemble at prepared instruments. As the music evolves in all its facets, the artists deliberately disappear into the background.
The multi-instrumentalists of District Five are right up close to jazz and pop one minute, a mile away the next. Throughout, they remain true to their quest for intimate, poetic moments that oscillate between precision and vagueness.
The Stylist is an experimental electronic duo: bass, wigs, femme, distortion – the rest is just noise.
