Come on a special journey through the past decades on film on the occasion of the 75 year jubilee of the Vienna Festival (Wiener Festwochen)! Every Friday and Sunday, the Cinema of the Republic in the Badeschiff cargo bay shows selected film excerpts, archival footage and documentary material about iconic productions that have shaped the myth of the Vienna Festival, such as Protecting Yourself from the Future (Christoph Marthaler), Us Dogs (Signa), Please Love Austria (Christoph Schlingensief) and Falco’s 1985 opening concert. Some screenings include conversations with participants, contemporaries and experts: a living archive of artistic diversity and influential moments from 75 years of the Vienna Festival (Wiener Festwochen)!
