Bouchra Ouizguen

Biographie
Bouchra Ouizguen is a Moroccan dancer and choreographer born in 1980 in Ouarzazate. She currently lives and works in Marrakech, where she has been committed to developing the local dance scene since 1998. In 2002, she co-founded the Anania Association for Art and Culture and worked with Mathilde Monnier, Bernardo Montet, Boris Charmatz and Alain Buffard before establishing her own company, O. In 2010, her piece Madame Plaza received the New Choreographic Talent award of the French Society of Dramatic Authors and Composers (SACD) and the special award of the jury of the association of French theatre, music and dance critics.
Her pieces – such as HA! or Ottof – were presented worldwide, e.g. at the Festival Montpellier Danse, at the Centre Pompidou and the Festival d’Automne à Paris. Jerada, produced with the Norwegian National Company of Contemporary Dance, was honoured with the Norwegian Critics’ Association’s award for the best dance production. Bouchra Ouizguen’s Corbeaux was presented at Wiener Festwochen 2019.
