Water Healing is a collective project to create a large-scale mural (12 meters wide) led by MAHKU, Huni Kuin artists’ collective recognized for its large-scale works. Anybody interested could join in the painting process between 4 and 12 May at the Austrian Association of Women Artists (VBKÖ), who support the project organized by globalista in the frame of the Vienna Festival (Wiener Festwochen).
On 15 May, the artwork was ceremonially inaugurated with a healing chant by the shaman Ibã Sales Huni Kuin on the Badeschiff.
As part of the Wiener Festwochen Republic of Gods, MAHKU invite artists, students, and anyone interested to participate in their collective creative process and to immerse themselves in the artistic and healing knowledge of Amazonian peoples.
The painting is displayed at the Badeschiff, the festival headquarters, and in this way symbolically connects the VBKÖ and the Badeschiff with the spirit of the forest.
