One week before the European Soccer Championship kick-off, a lawn carpet will be rolled out for partying at Vienna’s Augarten park. The music will be provided by Austria, Germany (Austria’s adversary competing in the same group) and organising partner Switzerland. On the eve of the kick-off, our brave national team can relax in the hammocks of Augarten avenue listening to the ironic songs of German-Lebanese singer and poet Lydia Daher.
Together with young inmates of the Gerasdorf penitentiary, the Linz-based hip-hop band Texta will create the soundtrack for an optimistic championship feeling with songs developed in rap and DJ workshops. As the highpoint of the picnic, the partners Switzerland and Austria will embrace each other. The championship final everybody hoped for but nobody wanted to believe in?
