On three Fridays in June – following the productions of Gisèle Vienne, Christiane Jatahy, Kornél Mundruczó, Jean Michel Bruyère, Markus Öhrn and Boris Charmatz – the Wiener Festwochen are hosting long nights of performances, concerts, interventions and audiovisual art in the Gösserhallen. Starting at 10pm, these former industrial buildings on Laxenburger Straße will be the venue for a dense programme of artistic positions from a wide variety of genres. And to top it all off, admission is free!
Cassils, whose radical work Becoming an Image takes place in total darkness and deals with physical violence directed against (trans-)bodies. Berlin-based sound artist M.E.S.H., who combines electronic avant-garde with intoxicating club sounds, presents his latest LP, Hesaitix, in an elaborate audiovisual show. Artist Dohee Lee translates traditional shamanic practices from Korea into a contemporary form in an interdisciplinary performance ritual for collective healing. The transgressive live performances of Tara Transitory aka One Man Nation – musician, conceptual artist and nomad between Chiang Mai and Berlin – are like acoustic séances and play with the dissolution of the individual in a collective trance.

The full programme will be published on 26 April. Be prepared!
