Kablam began her career at Berlin’s Janus parties alongside co-residents M.E.S.H., Lotic, and Dan DeNorch. Her DJ sets play with the increasingly blurred line of demarcation between experimental sounds and club music. Much like the pioneers connected to the New York event series and label GHE20G0TH1K, Kablam milks the technical possibilities of the CDJ2000 player for all they’re worth, effectively shattering and recombining genres from hardstyle to kuduro to pop. Both in her collaboration with Swedish label Staycore and in productions of her own such as Furiosa, Kablam’s political punk attitude is always present, and it can be clearly felt in her pointed mixing of hard, fast beats with non-verbal vocals and influences gleaned from dance floors around the globe.
